Peel of Fichlie

The Peel of Fichlie is a motte and bailey castle site. All that’s visible now is the square mound of the motte surrounded by a ditch.

It’s thought that a castle was built here some time after 1228 when Alan Durward took control of a large portion of the Earldom of Mar.
