Scottish gin

Scotland produces 70% of the UK’s gin and while a large proportion of that is for big brands such as Gordon’s and Tanqueray there has been a surge of interest in small batch gin over the past few years. This has led to an increase in the number of small-scale, independent Scottish gin producers. There are currently 82 gin brands from Scotland.

The primary botanical used for flavouring gins is juniper, the juniper berries being distilled with water, and around 80% of the UK’s juniper bushes are found in Scotland.

Each green circle on the map below represents a gin brand. Clicking on a circle will reveal the name of the brand and links to their website and social media pages where applicable.
