Collace
This Class I symbol stone was discovered by a farmer during ploughing in 1948 around 330m west of Fairygreen Farm.
A slab of grey sandstone, it measures around 0.63m tall by 0.41 wide and around 0.0m in thickness. The top and bottom parts of the slab have been damaged so that the carvings are incomplete.
At the top left of the slab is the lower part of a tuning fork symbol, infilled with leaf-shaped decoration, the upper part having been broken off. Below and to the right of this is a Pictish beast above a comb and a mirror, the the lower part of the handle of which ihas also broken off.
The stone was reused as a paving stone until 1962 when it was moved to the Marischal Museum in Aberdeen.
