The castle of Knockmahar is supposed to have stood on this ridge above Blairgowrie however nothing of it now remains.

It seems to have been owned by the Blair family in the 16th century, kinsmen of the Blairs of Ardblair, who were involved in a dispute with the Drummonds of Newton.

The exact location of the castle has been lost so I have placed it at the high point of the ridge pending further research.
