Pitkierie (possible) (site of)
There may have been a tower at Pitkierie but nothing of it now remains.
John of Pitkiery is mentioned in the middle of the 13th century and the lands of Pitkerrie were later owned by the Pitkerrie family.
There was a “mansion-house of Pitkiery” although what form it took is unclear and it had been demolished some time before 1887.
I have placed the site of the possible tower at West Pitkierie farm pending further research. In a field to its west is an ornate doocot which has been dated to the 18th century.
