Aerial photography in 1990 revealed a possible pit-defined cursus on the flood plain of the River Ericht around 1km to the E of Blairgowrie. Two parallel lines of pits, separated by a width of 20m, are visible for between 75 and 120m, running in an approximate E-W direction. The pits themselves are large and between 4m and 6m from one another. One pit was excavated and found to be shallow and elongated, 2.6m by 1.2m, with a maximum depth of 0.35m.
