Hadden (site of)
Hadden was the site of a castle which was the seat of the barony of Hadden although nothing of it now remains.
The earliest known owner of the lands was Bernard, son of Brian, lord of Hadden, who is thought to have been granted the lands of Hadden by William the Lion in the second half of the 12th century.
A branch of the family, as Haldanes, later moved to Perthshire where their seat was Gleneagles Castle.
I have placed the site of the castle at Hadden farmhouse pending further research.
