Ochtertyre

Ochtertyre is an 18th century classical mansion, however it replaced an earlier building that was demolished in the 1780s.
The earlier house, which may have been fortified, is said to have replaced Castle Cluggy which is situated around 200 metres to the south closer to the edge of Loch Monzievaird.
David Moray of Tullibardine gave the lands of Ochtertyre to his third son, Patrick, in the mid-15th century.

A castle named Ochterty is marked on Pont’s late 16th century map of Strathearn.
