Murdostoun Castle

In the early 15th century Murdostoun was owned by the Scott family but in 1446 Walter Scott of Murdiston, father of Sir David Scott of Buccleuch, granted Murdiston and Hartwood to Thomas Inglis of Manor in exchange for Branksholm, Branshaugh, Goldylands, Quhitelaw, Quhiterig, Todshaw-hills and Todshaw-wood.
