Grange of Bladnoch

Gallovidiae, Pars Occidentalior
Joan Blaeu, Amsterdam, 1654map image courtesy of NLS

Grange of Bladnoch was a tower which was extant in the 17th century but nothing of it now remains.

The first mention of the lands comes in 1619 when they were owned by William Gordon of Grange.

The tower is marked as Grainge on Blaeu’s mid-17th century map of Gallovidiae, based on Pont’s late 16th century work.

I have placed the site of the tower at Grange of Bladnoch farm pending further research.
