Gargunnock House is a 17th and 18th century mansion which incorporates a 16th century tower house.

In 1480 Alexander Hepburn, son and heir of Mariote Normavile de Gargunnok, was granted the lands of Gargunnok, Plane, Crammok and Glorate.

In 1530 Janet Turnbull of Gargunnock sold some land in the barony of Plane to Thomas Somerville of Plane and his wife, Margaret Livingston.
