Horse Hope Tower

Parish: Manor

County: Peeblesshire

Grid reference: NT 2180 3241

Lat / long: 55.579041, -3.2419605

Alternative names: Horse-hope-shank

The historic map is an Ordnance Survey map from 1919 to 1947, and is provided by the National Library of Scotland

The remains of a building here have been potentially identified as the Horse Hope Tower.

However the New Statistical Account mentions a castle called “Horse-hope-shank”, but also refers to a peel tower at Glenrath.

It's unclear to me me at this which of these this site is, but I have named it Horse Hope Tower until I can do more research.
