Broughton

A map of the Clyde and Tweed basins
Robert Gordon, c. 1636 – 1652map image courtesy of NLS

Broughton is marked as a tower named Brochtoun on Gordon’s and Blaeu’s mid-17th century maps.

The exact location has been lost but on 17th century maps it is shown in line with Littlehope and Cloverhill so I have placed it on raised ground to the north of Cloverhill pending further research.
