There was once a castle belonging to the Robertsons which stood on an island in the north-west corner of Loch Tummel but nothing is now visible above water.
The castle was occupied from the 15th until the mid-17th century and was in ruins by the 18th century.
When the level of Loch Tummel was raised in 1932 for a hydro-electric scheme the island was submerged. The island is located just south of Port-an-Eilean.
