Gorthy (site of)

The castle of Gorthy is marked on Pont’s map of Strathearn, but nothing of it now remains.

The lands of Gorthy were in the hands of the Gorthy family at the beginning of the 13th century, later passing to the Lundie family, the Morays and the Grahams.

The site of the castle is thought to have been somewhere in the vicinity of Mains of Gorthy but requires more research.
