Endovie (possible) (site of)
There is said to have been a tower at Endovie although its exact location has been lost.
Local tradition states that the laird of Balfluig and the laird of Endovie used to fire pistols at each other from their battlements in fits of jealousy, such was the proximity of their towers. One laird, possibly that of Endovie, is said to have been killed in one such encounter.
Some sources state that the tower was at Little Endovie while others merely state Endovie. Edyndovy was part of the barony of Forbes in the mid-15th century. Both Little Endovie and Meikle Endovie are mentioned in the 16th century. Meikle Endovie offers a better defensive prospect, being sited on high ground, so I have placed the possible location of the tower of Endovie there pending further research.
