Berriedale Castle

Berriedale Castle is a ruined castle standing on a promontory projecting into the mouth of the Berriedale River.
In the 14th century the castle was owned by the Cheyne family, but passed by marriage to the Sutherlands and then the Oliphants.

The remains of the castle include a section of a massive enceinte wall some 2.5m thick.
