Kirklandhill

A new description of the shyres Lothian and Linlitquo
Hendrik Hondius, Amsterdam, 1630map image courtesy of NLS

Kirklandhill was one of several towers destroyed by an English force under the Earl of Hertford on the 16th of April 1544, along with Stevenson, Eastbams, Markle, Traprain, Hetherwick and Belton.

I’ve placed the site of the castle at Kirklandhill farm pending further research.
