Bedrule Castle

Pont 35: part of Teviotdale
Timothy Pont, Edinburgh, c.1583 – 1601map image courtesy of NLS

Bedrule is a ruined 13th century castle which belonged to the Comyns.

In September 1545 Bedrowle was burned by an English army led by Edward Seymour, Earl of Hertford. Whether this referred to a settlement or a tower is not clear.
