Valleyfield (site of)

Valleyfield was a castle belonging to the Preston family but nothing of it now remains.

In August 1662 William Preston of Valleyfield married Anna Lumsdaine, daughter of Colonel James Lumsdaine of Innergellie and Christian Rutherford.

The castle was extended and remodelled to become Valleyfield House although this was demolished in 1918.
