Castle of Morphie (site of)

Nothing remains of the Castle of Morphie, which once stood on a promontory 500m west-north-west of Morphie farmhouse.

Nothing can be seen of Castle of Morphie, which was situated on the tip of a promontory 500m WNW of Morphie farmhouse. It is said (NSA 1845) to have been a castle defended by a wall, ditch and drawbridge; the site is Naturally defended on two sides, a wall, ditch and drawbridge added extra defences. The last traces of the foundations were removed some time before 1863.
