Terrintirran (possible) (site of)
Terrintirran was the property of the Livingston family, but any trace of their mansion has disappeared.
The lands are first mentioned in 1451 as Treinterane and a son of Sir James Livingston was the progenitor of the Livingston of Terrintirran family in the second half of the 15th century.
In 1681 the lands of Terrintirran were erected into the barony of Terrintirran for Alexander Livingston, 3rd Earl of Callendar.
The “old mansion-house of Glentirran” was described in 1903 as having “stood about 200 yards south-west of the old brig of Boquhan, near to the Keir Hill.”
Glentirran was one of the original eleven baronies in the parish of Kippen along with Dasher or Deshour, Shirgarton, Broich, Arnmanuel, Arnbeg, Arnmore, Arnfinlay, Garden, Buchlyvie and Arnprior.
