Fetternear House
The Old House of Fetternear was built by Bishop Ramsay of Aberdeen in 1226 as an L-shaped tower house, and extended extensively over the centuries to it’s present form, which was destroyed by fire in 1919.
The walls of the original tower measured some 3.5 metres thick, and were uncovered during 19th and 20th century excavations slightly to the south of the present structure.
