Yesterday Russell Crowe was in Edinburgh on a whistle-stop tour of the Celtic nations to promote his new film Noah. The Scottish premiere was at the Filmhouse cinema on Lothian Road, and when we arrived there were already hundreds of people waiting to see him.
The crowds spilled across to the other side of the road where a bunch of people took advantage of their flat’s “balcony” for a better view.
Eschewing the more usual celebrity arrival by limousine Russell strode up Lothian Road flanked by kilted members of the Clanranald Trust, having earlier reportedly been in a pub drinking Lagavulin.
Russell’s entourage, including members of the Clanranald Trust and co-star Douglas Booth, gathered on the red carpet for photos.
While Russell continued posing for photographs, Douglas Booth signed autographs for fans.
The party moved inside but Russell returned outside a short time later to sign autographs and pose for more photos.
Eventually it was time for Russell to head inside to watch the Scottish premiere of Noah, waving to the crowd as he went.
