To mark the end of the Edinburgh Festival each year there is a fireworks display, with the fireworks set off from Edinburgh Castle‘s battlements. An orchestra plays a classical musical accompaniment for the spectators watching from Princes Street Gardens.
When we got to Princes Street Gardens the castle was lit up high above us.

After finding a good spot to sit on the grass we settled in and waited. It wasn’t long before the castle was plunged into darkness and the music started, signalling the start of the show.

I took a couple of videos of the fireworks, the first of which includes some great heart-shaped explosions towards the end.
