Shetland car hire guide

There are several car hire options on the mainland of Shetland, making it the ideal way to explore the island.

Most visitors will arrive into Lerwick on the ferry, and several of the leading car hire companies are represented at Lerwick Ferry Terminal.

Also in the centre of Lerwick, and not far from the ferry terminal, are North Road and Commercial Road.

For visitors arriving by air, the same companies offer car hire at Tingwall Airport, situated a few kilometres to the north-west of Lerwick.

Further airport car hire locations can be found at Scatsta Airport towards the north end of the island, and Sumburgh Airport at the very southern tip.
