Scottish music

Scotland’s thriving music scene has always been vibrant, but in recent years has become even more so, and has given birth to numerous internationally-recognised groups, as well as less well-known but nevertheless excellent smaller bands. Franz Ferdinand have emerged onto the world stage to critical acclaim, following in the footsteps of bands such as Simple Minds before them.

More and more music venues and clubs are springing up all the time, while the festivals are going from strength to strength, in particular T in the Park which every year attracts more visitors from outwith Scotland due to its burgeoning reputation as one of the liveliest music festivals on the British calendar.
