Viewfield is a self-catering cottage in Durness, Sutherland.

This is a gorgeous old stone croft house, which has been carefully redecorated in modern but warm way. There are uninterrupted views of the lush green countryside from almost every window in this stunning house and even some views of the famous coastline too. The property comprises of 1 double, 1 twin, and 1 single bedroom, a modern fitted kitchen, a handy utility room, a large sitting room with an open fire and a newly built conservatory dining space. The house is decorated in warm yellows, cream and white and is furnished mainly in a modern country style.

Durness is the most North Westerly village in the whole of mainland Scotland and unsurprisingly it's lure lies in the fact that it's a wonderfully tranquil and calm place to spend a week or two. Durness is actually an ancient village having been built sometime before the 8th Century. History lovers should note there is an 8th Century Christian Settlement on the outskirts of the village as well as sites that show cave dwellings and evidence of Viking attacks. The nearby beaches are covered in shimmering sand and are well worth a visit even if the sun is not out! If you like the idea of independently exploring Scotland's stunning Highlands then Durness is the perfect base from which to start your adventures.
