Set in an 800 acre country estate and overlooking the Firth of Clyde, the Westin Turnberry Resort is located on the west coast of Scotland in the village of Turnberry, 51 miles from Glasgow.

Built in 1906 in Edwardian style with later traditionally built additions, this three storey resort hotel is home to the Ailsa and Kintyre Championship Golf Courses, and a nine hole course.

Spa facilities at the hotel include an indoor pool, fitness equipment, a spa tub, a sauna, and a steam room. Beauty and massage treatments are available, and there is also a hair salon.

The hotel also offers a dedicated concierge desk, a porter, and 24 hour room service. The public areas have wireless Internet access (surcharge), and complimentary valet parking is also available.

The Turnberry Restaurant serves international dishes in a room with ornate period decor; The Tappie Toorie serves international food with a Scottish theme. The hotel's Whisky Bar boasts an extensive selection of single malts. Guests get preferential rates at the golf courses and the Outdoor Activities Centre offers a range of pursuits, including archery, mountain biking, falconry and horse riding. Supervised kids' activities are available, and there is a children's pool.

The 219 guestrooms have traditional Scots decor and antique style furnishings. All are equipped with satellite television with pay movies, climate control, and wireless Internet access (surcharge). Other standard amenities include safes, minibars, and tea and coffee facilities. Bathrobes, slippers, complimentary toiletries, and hair dryers are all provided, and in room massage is available.

When Robert Burns wrote his epic poem, 'Tam O'Shanter', in 1790, the inn where the tale of drunken bravado and supernatural horrors starts was on the site of the present day Tam O'Shanter pub, 21 miles from the hotel.
