Welcome to the oldest continually-licensed hotel in Scotland. With parts of the building dating from the time of Mary Queen of Scots, we offer spacious en-suite bedrooms, a cosy lounge with wood-burning stove, and a sun-trap beer garden to the rear of the building. We welcome families, and have two cots as well as a childrens menu. Children under 5 stay free. All our rooms were completely renovated in 2006 and we now have digital TV and WiFi throughout. Golf is available on 23 local courses as part of the Freedom of the Fairways scheme, and there is also excellent walking, cycling, fishing, horse-riding and other country pursuits in the wonderful scenery of the Borders. The hotel is completely non-smoking.
