Situated on the picturesque shores of Loch Ewe, the village of Aultbea is a great location from which to explore the North-West Highlands. Rich in tourist attractions, the area boasts the National Trust's renowned Inverewe Gardens – full of exotic plants and only five miles away – as well as the beautiful Gruinard Bay with its unusual red-sand beaches and mountainous backdrop. Udrigle beach and the beautiful sands of Mellon Udrigle are also very close by, giving visitors plenty of choice when deciding on a spot to go sunbathing. And with seals and otters present amongst the wide variety of local wildlife, this is a great place for long country walks. The village itself is well-served by a local shop and two hotels and makes a great base for a walking holiday.
