Dunrobin Castle with its fairy tale turrets and beautiful formal gardens is only 13½ miles away and the seaside villages of Brora and Golspie with links golf courses are within easy reach as is Dornoch (15 miles) with its championship golf course lovely sandy beaches interesting shops and well known cathedral. The Falls of Shin (11½ miles) where 'Harrods' have their other shop and restaurant is a good place to watch salmon leaping upstream and the lovely Castle of Mey (the former holiday home of the late Queen Mother) makes a good day trip. Shop and pub 4 miles.
