Clonyard House Hotel

Clonyard is a small, friendly, family run hotel. The hotel is situated in seven acres of mature gardens and woodlands, in a secluded position within a national scenic area near the Solway coast between the villages of Rockcliffe and Kippford. Dumfries and Galloway has always been and still is the undiscovered southern corner of Scotland. The scenery ranges from coastal plains and craggy cliffs to upland moorland with more than a hint of wilderness. The hotel is just 25 minutes drive from Dumfries. Numerous small villages are dotted about the countryside, each with its own individual charm. The country town of Kirkcudbright is well known in art circles for its historical connections with the ‘Glasgow Boys’. Most of our bedrooms are situated on the ground floor, ‘Garden Wing’. These are contemporary in style and each has its own small patio, to catch the sun, and overlooking a quiet area of the garden. The hotel caters both for visitors to the area and the many local guests who call in for meals and drinks.
