Lichen Burn is a newly-built house, situated in beautiful Glen Nant on the edge of Taynuilt, 12 miles from Oban, the Gateway to the Isles, with its ferry links to the Inner Hebrides. The two guest rooms overlook the River Nant and the Caledonian Forest Reserve, with french doors opening onto a deck with views of the river and the mountains. The rooms are spacious and contain a superking-size bed or twin beds at your choice, two comfortable armchairs, TV and radio, DVD and teacoffee-making facilities. Each room has a large ensuite bathroom with full-size bath, and shower over. You are welcome to explore our one-and-a-half acre garden with its ancient oak trees, or sit on the wildflower-strewn river bank. Watch the wildlife: red squirrels feeding on the nut baskets, buzzards wheeling overhead, herons in the river, red deer in the garden or on the other side of the river, or catch an occasional glimpse of a pine marten, UKs rarest mammal. On a week-end break or a longer stay, Lichen Burn makes an ideal base for touring, boat trips to see the marine wildlife or the infamous Gulf of Corryvreckan, wonderful walks, golf at any of the 3 nearby courses (you can borrow our clubs) and many other activities in this part of the West Highlands, so please come and go as you wish during your stay.
