5 miles away is Fort William from where the steam train service made famous in the Harry Potter films makes its spectacular journey (in season) to the attractive fishing port of Mallaig which sits at the end of the Road to the Isles and also offers ferries to the Inner Hebrides. A trip to the Silver Sands of Morar beaches is a must (32 miles) whilst locally visitors can enjoy excellent hill walking mountaineering and skiing (in season) and some of the UK's finest mountain bike tracks are close by.
