This property is thought to be one of the oldest in Bellochantuy, and was formerly an inn. There are tales that it has a secret passage from the underground cellar to the shore nearby, but so far this has eluded locals and visitors alike. This is a spacious property and has been thoughtfully furnished to provide comfortable accommodation. It is set over three floors and there are four bedrooms, three doubles, one with en-suite and a twin room also with en-suite which also has two pull out single beds. There is a wood burner in the sitting room and a games area with a pool table and dart board. The fitted kitchen has a dining area, and a shower room completes the accommodation. Outside there is a large patio to the front and parking for several cars. This is a very versatile property, full of character and is a perfect place for a large family gathering.

Campeltown Argyll is the main town on Kintyre’s Peninsula and is set in a bay sheltered by Davaar Island. The Island can be reached at low tide by means of a causeway that is a mile long. The town used to have a large fishing fleet and numerous whisky distilleries, but nowadays there are only two single malts waiting to be sampled by the eager visitors, Glen Scotia and Springbank. Campbeltown has a Heritage centre housed in a very interesting old Art Deco property known as the “Wee Picture House.” The building is the country’s oldest working cinema. From the Mull of Kintyre a few miles to the south, the hills of County Antrim in Ireland, 12 miles away, can be seen. This is an area rich in heritage and a marvellous location for a great holiday.
