This lovely area of the Scottish Highlands is famed for its spectacular scenery and for its abundant wildlife, with birds including buzzards and red kites plus magnificent Highland deer. The River Beauly is an established salmon river, and the village of Beauly is just below the hamlet of Broallan. The west coast of Scotland is under an hour’s drive away, and visitors will also find Loch Ness and other notable Scottish attractions easily accessible. Both the Glen Ord Distillery and the Moniack Castle Winery, for example, are close by. Many will know the village as the finish for the annual Highland Cross race. In this exciting contest, competitors cross from the west coast to the east by running and cycling. Golf, fishing and pony trekking are also popular with locals and visitors alike, and the Inverness shops and restaurants are only 12 miles away. Another big draw is that dolphins are often seen from the Moray Firth coast during the summer months.
