A base for mountain bikers, only a half hour drive from the superb Glentress Forest mountain bike trails. Walkers can go by the Southern Upland Way via the Minchmuir Road to Traquair House, museum and brewery. There's good fishing and pony trekking locally as well as some very scenic cycle routes.
