Bridge of Orchy Hotel

Bridge of Orchy Hotel is a hotel, bunkhouse, pub, restaurant in Bridge of Orchy, Argyll.

Gloriously relaxing, timeless getaway destination hotel, deliciously prepared and presented modern Scottish/Eurpoean cuisine, in amazing scenic location amidst the majesty of the Scottish central Highlands.

Behind the hotel is a bunkhouse offering comfortable budget accommodation ideal for walkers.

On the doorstep of Glencoe, flanked by Rannoch Moor, Scotland's last wilderness, and a staging post for the famous West Highland Way, possibly the best long distance scenic walk in the UK. A truly superb touring destination base.

I've stayed both in the bunkhouse behind the hotel and the hotel itself - two very different accommodation options, but both enjoyable experiences.

The bunkhouse is fairly basic but has excellent showers and a good drying room, and offers great value for money while still giving walkers or those on a budget access to a good pub and restaurant.

The hotel is considerably more luxurious than the bunkhouse and offers a good standard of accommodation in this peaceful setting.

On the ground floor is a friendly bar - full of locals, walkers and tourists - which has a great selection of whiskies, and a restaurant. The menu is excellent, and food can be eaten either in the restaurant or the bar. Booking for dinner is recommended as it's a popular place.

The historic map is an Ordnance Survey map from 1919 to 1947, and is provided by the National Library of Scotland
