The historic map is an Ordnance Survey map from 1919 to 1947, and is provided by the National Library of Scotland

The entrance of the Iron Age fort of Trusty's Hill (still in use in Pictish times) is marked with several Pictish carvings.

Carved onto the bedrock is a double disc and Z-rod on the left, with a Pictish beast on the right. Immediately below the Pictish beast is a long cone at the base of which is a round terminal with two spirals. This almost looks like a stylised sword piercing the belly of the beast.
