Papa Westray
This fragment of stone, found on the shore near St Boniface’s Church, is thought to be part of a Class II symbol stone.
The small, water-worn stone is carved with a crude rectangle symbol and part of a cross and has been interpreted as part of a corner-post shrine.
Found in 1992, it is now housed within the Orkney Museum at Tankerness House in Kirkwall.
