Mortlach 2

This Class I symbol stone was found in 1925 during grave-digging at Mortlach churchyard lying horizontal at a depth of around 2m and around 9m to the north-west of the Battle Stone. The stone was broken into five pieces during its removal.

The stone is carved with a Pictish beast above a curvilinear S-shaped symbol and measures around 1.8m tall by 0.56m across by 0.25m thick and now stands in the vestibule of the church at NJ 3237 3928.
