Inveravon 1

This Class I Pictish symbol stone once stood against the south wall of Inveravon parish church but now stands within the porch along with three other stones.

Measuring around 1.5m tall by around 0.9m across, the blue slate stone is carved with a decorated mirror case below which is a large eagle. To the right of the eagle are a smaller mirror and comb.

Similar combinations of symbols occur on other Strathspey stones at Arndilly and Dandaleith.
