Torsonce House, built in 1830, is said to stand on the site of Torsonce Castle, and may incorporate a small part of the older building at its south west corner.

There is a section of ancient walling built into the west side of the terrace which supports the house, but whether or not it formed part of a castle is now unclear.

On the 22nd of January 1992 Torsonce House was destroyed by fire. Restoration was undertaken by Simpson & Brown Architects (completed in 1995), and while they were able to salvage many architectural details, rebuilding the house in its entirety proved impossible, so the decision was made to rebuild it as a two storey building, whereas before it had three storeys.
