Stonedge (site of)
Stonedge was a tower belonging to the Turnbulls but nothing of it now remains.
By the 17th century Stonedge had passed to the Elliots. Gilbert Elliot of Stonedge and Howa is on record in the early 18th century and married Cecily or Cecilia Kerr, daughter of William Kerr of Abbotrule. Their daughter, Elizabeth Elliot, married William Kerr, later of Gateshaw.
I have placed the site of the tower at Stonedge farm pending further research.
