Renpatrick

There was a tower at Ranpatrick that was extant in the 16th century but nothing of it now remains.

In 1494 John Murray received sasine of Revell, Cokpule, Ranpatrick, Brydechapell, Lammartlandis and Prestdikis.

On the 1st of July 1612 James VI granted various lands to John Murray of Rainpatrik which were incorporated into the free barony of Lochmaben. The free barony of Lochmaben was confirmed for John Murray of Dundrenane on the 30th of October in the same year.
