Muness Castle

Muness Castle was built in 1598 but burned in August 1627, and it’s thought it may never have been repaired.

It is rectangular in plan, measuring some 22.3 metres long by 7.9 metres wide on a north-west to south-east axis. There is a round tower at each of the south and north corners, and turrets at third-storey level on the other two corners.
