Lunan (possible) (site of)

The barony of Inverlunan was an early barony in Angus, although the exact location of its seat has now been lost.

On Gordon’s mid-17th century maps a tower named Lownan or Lounan is marked to the north of Red Castle, and slightly later Blaeu shows Lunen across the Lunan Water from Red Castle.

I have placed the site of the castle of Lunan at a mound on the opposite side of the Lunan Water from Red Castle pending further research.
