Luce (site of)

Luce was a tower house belonging to the Carlyles although nothing of it now remains.

Adam de Carlyle, son of Robert de Hodelm and grandson of Odard de Hodelm, was granted the estate of Luce in the late 12th or early 13th century and was the progenitor of the Carlyle family.
