Not far from the site of Lickprivick Castle is a mound which may be the motte of an earlier wooden castle.

Measuring around 2.5m tall, it used to be approximately square on plan, with the top measuring about 7m on each side. However over time the mound has taken on a rounder shape, and the bottom of the mound is around 24m in diameter.

It is now surrounded by a housing estate.
